Stephen Album's Checklist of Islamic Coins designates this coin as “Rare” (R).  The Checklist notes:  “This countermark is found almost exclusively on #2583 and #2584 of the second eastern standard (about 10.16g and 5.08g, respectively), normally undated but recently confirmed for the year 928 (source unknown).  This suggests that the countermark was intended to tax examples of the 2nd standard for continued use during the 4th standard. ”  

For this exact coin pictured above, it was noted that “…countermarked 'adl shah 928 on the reverse of a half shahi of type A-2384 (2nd standard), but the mint and date of the host has been obliterated by the use of another coin on the reverse during the countermarking, confirmed by its retrograde appearance over the obverse! VF countermark on VG-Fine host, RRR. The date within the countermark confirms that it was authorized by Isma'il's administration, and seems to have been used almost exclusively on types A-2383 and A-2384 of the 2nd standard.”
