bought these from an antique shop. Looks like N#12517 but obverse doesnt quite match up and reverse isnt sharp. Are these modern fakes? They do have signs that theyre cast and still have a little of the sprue left… but they seem really off.  Attached are pictures

It's not the actual ruler.

Lettering: ڠ ؁١٣٢١

I think they are real. If the “branch” where the coin was cut from the tree can be seeing, I guess it is a good sign that was made as was intended to be.

I thought so… but the words don’t seem as sharp as examples online, there’s a rather unusual shine and if you do zoom in theres rather unnatural lines(not sure if it’s part of casting process) in the coins fields. Also I still can’t identify the exact ruler these coins were issued for lol. Was told upon sale it was Kelantan pitis but perhaps it could be some other state

I have given you the date, it is a sufficient clue for you to be able to find this coin on your own in the Numista database

I could not find anything else similar on the database

Oh, that's a pitis !

The date in AH1321, so your coin is :

N#12517

the 1 keping is 3 cm wide. My coin is 2cm wide, hence not a keping(1/100) but a pitis (1/1000)

You'r right, Two different Pitis with this date are shown in the SCWC

A breakthrough — excellent. The coin you show explains the rounded details and perfectly matches my coins reverse. However, the obverse isnt a perfect matchup. for example a “s” looking symbol instead of a dot, among other details although most details line up. What could this mean?

Zeno is far more complete than the SCWC  for these joint issues from Patani and Kelantan.

This Zeno coin is similar to yours with explainations.

You may add a line in the KM#15 coin file with the comment ref: SS24, and the link to Zeno in order that anybody understands :)
