Pretty boring movement on my top 10 this time, minimal additions to it. Most recent swaps had been big but mostly of other countries that don't reflect on the top 10, or new country additions that also don't reflect in the top 10.
At least Mexico is nearing 400.

I'm not an expert in any kind of coins, but I reckon I'm good at research and will do my best to help. Feel free to tell me my identifications/valuations/gradings are wrong. It's the only way I'll learn.

Bye - Italy, Spain and France...
First post outside of a few identification threads for me!
Live in USA, traveled to Canada, have family in Switzerland, father brought back coins from working in Japan in the 80s. Otherwise, just whatever I happen to find. My rule for collecting is that, to keep myself from running out of money, I only buy coins in person - mostly coin store bargain bins, flea markets and pawn shops. Focusing on African and pre-1860 European coins.
1. USA - close to 1000 coins saved, going back to 1794 - not entered yet
2. Canada - at least 100-150, not entered yet

Citação: jokinenI focus only on circulating types. No commemoratives.
And what about circulating commemoratives?
Good point. I do not collect those except in cases when its a normal circulating coin and no common one exists for that denomination.
So I do not collect for example the French Tour d'Eiffel 5 Francs as there was also the common 5 Francs coin. But I do have an Austrian 20 Schilling coin, but just one type instead of the whole series.
In the end it's a bit arbitrary and I do whatever I like. It saves me from hoarding German 5 & 10 DM and 10€, Polish 2 Zlote, Russian 10 Rubles, Dutch 10 & 50 Guilders, US State Quarters, Danish 20 Kroners, endless Spanish Peseta small change and numerous British overseas territories' Crown issues.
In the case of Vatican and San Marino I have limited myself to 1 type per denomination (per pope in the Vatican case). It is the Isle of Man where I was a sucker to go for all 1p-2£ circulating types as they did not change their design yearly. However, they did change it more often than necessary for the sole purpose of propping up collector demand rather than changing monetary or political conditions.
Anyway, it shows how pointless this all is. Fun pointlessness that is.

Citação: SRoweCollectionGot any Liberty coins? Like the Onza Plata or Kilo de Plata?
I have no interest in non-circulating coins. The only reason to buy them would be as an investment. Though I think silver is pretty cheap in an environment of reckless central banks, I'd rather invest in things that pay interest or dividend.
It's a really beautiful coin. One of my favourites in fact.

If I counted Germany together, but not include East Germany, it would be 6th with 310. I have Germany split into 3 separate listings. Pre 1933, 1933-1947 & 1948 onwards
I've updated my counting as using strictly Numista system, this would completely modify the results as no more cumulating colonies, former regimes (like Germany 1871-1948, French kingdom) and local mintage (Italian states, French cities, various colonies). But most euro coins aren't still counted. That's why it's still provisory.
France (565)
United Kingdom (141)
Belgium (138)
Spain (131)
Italy (127)
Germany - Federal Republic (126)
Hungary (104)
Luxembourg (91)
Netherlands (77)
United States (70)
Still overdominated by Europe in my case.

Actually no. I have re-counted most of my coins, and then also deleted a few from the list. In the Finland case I had about 23 pieces of the 20 penniä 1963 coin, but now I "just" have 10 left. I also removed these from my collection and put them all in the swap setion instead. :)
