Ernest Oberländer-Târnoveanu (born 1951) is a distinguished Romanian numismatist and historian, currently serving as the Director of the National Museum of Romanian History. He is known for his contributions to the study of monetary circulation in Northern Dobruja between the 6th century BCE and the 1st century CE.
As Director, he has played a key role in preserving Romania's cultural heritage, including the authentication and repatriation of national treasures, such as coins returned to Romania. His efforts have strengthened the museum's role in safeguarding historical artifacts.
