Hubert Frère

Hubert Frère (1920–1999) was a distinguished Belgian numismatist renowned for his expertise in Carolingian and medieval coinages, particularly those from the province of Liège. He served as the president of the Société Royale de Numismatique de Belgique (Royal Numismatic Society of Belgium).

Among his notable publications is "Numismatique: Initiation aux méthodes et aux classements" (Numismatics: Introduction to Methods and Classifications), published in 1982. This work serves as an introductory guide to numismatic methods and classification systems.
