Jean-Luc Dengis (born 1950) is a renowned Belgian numismatist, particularly specialized in the study of the coins of the Principality of Liège. He is the author of several reference works in this field, notably the four-volume series Les monnaies de la principauté de Liège, initially published in 2006.
In addition to this series, Jean-Luc Dengis has contributed to other significant numismatic works. In 2022, he published the Catalogue des monnaies de la seigneurie de Herstal (1106-1355), providing a detailed analysis of the coinage issued by this medieval lordship.
Jean-Luc Dengis is also the founder of the Cercle Numismatique du Val de Salm, established in 1978. This Belgian association is dedicated to the study and promotion of numismatics, offering a platform for researchers and collectors interested in the monetary history of the region.
