John E. Sandrock

John E. Sandrock (1920–2012) was a pioneering American numismatist renowned for his extensive research and contributions to the field of paper money collecting. His passion for numismatics ignited during his service with the U.S. Navy in China in 1946, leading to a lifelong dedication to the study and collection of paper currency. In the 1960s, Sandrock founded the Maryland Foreign Paper Money Club, which later evolved into the World Paper Money Club. This organization published "The Currency Collector," the first U.S. journal dedicated to foreign paper money enthusiasts.
