Ron Guth

Ron Guth is a numismatic specialist with over five decades of professional involvement in U.S. and German coin collecting, research, and writing. A licensed Certified Public Accountant, he has published numerous award-winning books and articles, receiving recognition from organizations such as the American Numismatic Association, the Numismatic Literary Guild, and the Professional Numismatic Guild. In 2003, he was honored with the American Numismatic Association’s President’s Award, and in 2021, Coin World included him among the top ten most influential numismatists from 1960 to 2020.

In 1999, Guth created the CoinFacts website, which he later sold to Collectors Universe; it now operates as PCGS CoinFacts. He subsequently held various leadership roles at Collectors Universe, including Director of Numismatic Research, President of the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS), and President of PCGS CoinFacts. Currently, he serves as proprietor of GermanCoins.com and Chief Investigator at the Numismatic Detective Agency, specializing in expert provenance research for high-end coins.
