Wolfgang Fischer-Bossert (born 1965) is a German classical archaeologist and numismatist who studied in Tübingen, Cologne, and Bonn, earning his PhD in 1994. He received the German Archaeological Institute’s travel fellowship and served at its Athens Department. His research focuses on Greek numismatics, with significant contributions on the coinages of Tarent, Athens, and Syracuse. Currently based in Vienna (habilitated in 2018), he was awarded the Huntington Medal Award in 2022.
