French / Spanish gold ?

Hello! I was recently left these items in a batch in a will.

I have no clue about coins, but I’m sure some are gold/silver.

any advice on them would be good.

should I keep hold of them of sell them with the estate? There is a huge collection of the ones with pandas on, but this is the only cased one.
I assume it’s the most important.

thanks,
joseph.
the gold 1815 Napoleon is a very nice item, certainly worth US$500.
the Charles III 1/2 Escudo needs to be authenticated, likely worth $250. I recommend you arrange to have it slabbed by NGC or PCGS.
The silver Pandas seem to be going for $40-$50 on e-bay.
you can sell everything if you prefer cash, now is a good time to sell.

Wow!
Thank you for the response! and sorry for my late reply! Busy time.

The 1815 gold coin got very little interest from the valuer (this is a company that wants to buy everything)! They placed about 200 dollars value on it! Im curious why such a discrepancy. They said most Napoleon gold goes relatively cheap - just above spot.

They showed more interest in the Pandas.
Offered 300 dollars for a panda coin from 1983. I Presumed Chinese silver to be worthless! Was obviously wrong!

I refused to sell any until I get some further details.

Thank you for your insight!
I will contact a local antique expert and see what they have to say too!

The Charles III 1/2 Escudo - you say I should get it slabbed. How would I go about doing that?

Thanks!
Joseph!
I will offer you $500 for the Napoleon right now. I don't know what the dealer you spoke to knows or might be thinking.

The Pandas are worth at least the spot price, they are pure silver after all, plus a prettiness premium. There may well be specific highly desirable scare ones, I haven't researched them.

Check this link to PCGS https://www.pcgs.com/submissionguide
explains how to engage them to get your nice gold coin in an unassailable authentication slab. looks like will cost $38+postage for a "regular".

Edit to add, I could not identify the Louis XVI token, it might be interesting.
Can you provide the diameter and weight, if you have a caliper and a small gram scale.

Educate yourself as much as possible as estate liquidators are in business to make money and move the merchandise fast. Think hard before you decide to sell them all as a lot to cash out quickly. You may regret it. I found this on the French token, not much value apparently. .https://www.numiscorner.com/products/france-token-louis-xvi-constitution-la-nation-la-loi-le-roi-vf30-35

Photo of the 1/2 Escudo is not clear so I am not sure of exact coin.

On the Napoleon coin, you were lied to. Here is an example probably in similar condition that sold recently at auction for over $700:

On the 1760 1/2 escudos, here are a couple of recent sales of coins that appear to be in similar condition to yours (though as others have said, the quality of the photos make it tough to judge); the value could be in the $200-250 range. Given the selling price, the investment in professional grading (about $50 after postage and insurance) is borderline.

Wow! Thank you for all the responses!

I have spoken to the liquidators.
They said they are not coin specalists but are just offering cash for anything that they maybe able to resell. As a buissness, im sure they need to make a profit too.

I have kept ALL coins found.
There is a HUGE collection.

I guess ill become a coin expert soon! Any i cant identify, i hope i can share here and get some help!

Thanks,
Joe!
