Greetings, excuse me, I ask for your help to be able to catalog this half Penny that I just got well, it is that I do not find much information and images on how to differentiate the LC-60C1, LC-60D2, LC-60E1 and LC-60F1. I look forward to your kind responses.

Hello,

Back when I was referee, good pictures of all the varieties were difficult to come by (still are perhaps?) so I just went with descriptions.

You have LC-60C1 which was the 1st Bust and Harp imitation (loved by the Irish immigrants) to appear in Lower Canada circa 1826 - 1827. Being the first, they are of good quality and style.

Defining feature on Obverse; four (4) large ruffles on shirt frill

On the Reverse; the shape of the Harp at the top

I don't think weight will be too helpful as the weight varies considerably with each successive variety (although yours tends to be the heaviest).

This is based on the 8th Edition of Canadian Colonial Tokens (W.K. Cross). My 10th Edition (C. Chapados-Girard) now has all Bust and Harp tokens grouped together, including the originals. I consider the new listing a very, confusing hodgepodge and I would not be surprised if they switched back in future additions.

Hoping this is helpful.

Peter

P.S. Nice token!!
It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble.  It's what you know for sure, that just ain't so.  Mark Twain

Yes, nice token.

I have not yet purchased the 10th edition and, for the time being, I rely on the 9th. It's good to know in advance that it might not be entirely satisfactory, though I will probably get it anyway.
