The dates in the star looks tampered. The main date 1869 has the 69 a bit weird, especially the 9.

I think is a real coin of 1870 with the dates manipulated to look like a most expensive year.

The year 1870 (mintage ~6.000.000) to look 1869 (mintage 100)

Changing the 70 in the star is one thing. Changing the main 1870 date to 1869 is quite another.

I agree that it is not genuine. Apart having a questionable weight, this coin is extremely rare with a mintage of only 100 (as zegeri pointed out) thus making it not only very valuable but also making it very attractive for counterfeiters to try and replicate.

I don't know if it is a genuine coin that has been altered or a complete fabrication but again I agree with zegeri that the '69' in the date is suspect. It almost looks as though they didn't have a genuine 1869 5 Pesetas coin to copy from so instead they just relied on what the '69' looked like on the 1869 2 Pesetas coin?
