I am surprise that such a rare coin is only worth the value of gold.

In the jewelry industry melting those non-circulating gold coins give a profit ways better than the numismatic value.

Sad but true.

Vintage coins like that can be worth a pretty penny, especially with such a limited mintage. To get an accurate value, I'd recommend reaching out to a coin dealer or getting it professionally appraised

I agree with you. I know that collectors in some countries, and with such a low mintage, every collector under the sun in those countries will want to have one. Some hoggers may even try to corner the market by buying as many of the coins as possible.
