Hi, I was in the oldest pub in Dunlin today and couldn't belive the amount of banknotes adorning the walls. Shame about the graffiti though! I recommend this pub if you are ever visiting Dublin. Happy St. Patrick's day everyone.  Bren

Opps..DUBLIN!! 😥😂😂

Pubs in Dublin are always lively and have a great vibe.

Is that the Brazen Head?

It was…well spotted.

All U.S. ones, but an Australian 10er!

I was at a pub in England many years ago and I saw the pub had the same thing too. The barman told me that the banknotes posted on the wall were donated by visitors from all over the world. I suppose this is quite a common in your part of the world? All you need is for one to start this and more will follow.

Oh lots of other countries too. The photos only show a tiny percentage.

Plus 1 x $5 Canada, 1 pound Jersey + this, which I can not tell.

Also, I was in a similar place in New Orleans, Louisiana, that pasted one dollar bills to the wall that the guests signed and paid for. It was probably the greenest restaurant I’ve ever been to. Great gumbo as well!

Thanks.

In this country any graffiti writing on a legal banknote is against the law.

It's also a very bad thing to do…. Especially if your on the lookout for perfect notes !

I’d take all the US ones down and buy some old coins!

I would leave the rest…

Taking a break from swapping for a while, but still interested in pre 1799 Spanish coins, I will make time for that!

Looking for pre 1783 coins

They were properly glued, a thick layer on top of each

There is a pub  in Donegall that has Police badges pinned on the wall.

Mostly from the US

The Brazen Head has a room dedicated to the emergency services from all over the world. There's are some amazing badges on the walls in the little room on the right. So if you're heading to Dublin…don't forget to visit this great pub…they also do food. 🙂

Bren,

  Did you have some Guinness?

I was in a pub here in Wellington, New Zealand on St. Patrick's Day night, & I had a glass of beer with a mate.

Unfortunately, there was no empty pool tables - so we went somewhere else which was pretty quiet.

Aidan.

I had a Guinness and an Irish Coffee!! ….After all that's definitely a weekend yo celebrate being Irish!! Slante!

😂😂

Bren,

Have you ever been to the Guinness Brewery in St. James's Gate?

You can even get taught how to pour a glass of Guinness the proper way.

Aidan.

Yes. It's well worth doing. It's a little expensive,  especially if you go for the full experience.  But its a must if you're in Dublin. I recommend it!
