2010 Singapore 5 cents - inner rim

Has anyone else found a 5 cent from Singapore with an inner rim on both sides?

Here is my 2010, I don't see anything

No, just loose coins brought back by a friend after a trip to Malaysia.

Not my question. If coins on Singapore are distributed in rolls, the packing machine might make round marks on the coins at the end of the roll.

No - this is a defined metal inner rim, not damage.  This is clearly minted this way.  I would like to know if it's a common occurrence, or another anomaly.

These photos are from NGC. Clearly there's something going on just inside the rim. My guess is some die deterioration is happening.

That would be the end result if the die didn't chip or crack. This one was heading there:

Question that are not requests for change would be better of in coin question forum part. :)

If there are more of these, and this seems to be a widespread issue with the continued use of damaged or fragmenting dies by the Malaysian Mint not a once off, then surely we should list this as a variant?

There are lots of examples of this, but here are just a couple from Spain…
