Buon giorno, ho questa moneta, trovata in soffitta da mia suocera, probabilmente appartenuta al padre.

I would like to know more since I am not in the sector and evaluate the sale. I have also found other coins of this type.

Have you weighed it? Might it be the (less valuable) gold one?

It weighs 21g, I don't know which one it is. I found it yesterday along with 2 other similar coins and I'm trying to find out. Is there a way to understand if it's gold? Thanks

Assuming it's authentic you can tell by weight. (and color). Here is the gold one: N#21253 It weighs 32.3 grams. The silver one weighs 21 grams.

I believe it is authentic, my wife's grandfather was a soldier in the first world war, we live in Solferino in Italy, where there was one of the battles. in my in-laws attic there are several abandoned relics and the house has been in the family for about 100 years.

I'm not doubting you but it is a very valuable coin. If you look on the coin page you'll see one auction from 2014 where it sold for 31,000 euro. It would be worthwhile to get it professionally certified if you are planning to sell it. Can you post pictures of it?

The one on the right is supposed to be this coin: N#18111
The problem is the VIII date on your coin doesn't exist leading me to believe it is a counterfeit.
The one on the left is not a real coin but this medal/fantasy coin: N#5491
It has no real value.

perfect, thank you. So the only one that could be worth something is the Vittorio Emanuele III. I will have it appraised, thanks for the information.

My pleasure. The 100 Lire is pretty rare. You may find it is a counterfeit, too. Did you try holding a magnet to it?
