I've got this 500 Piso note from the Philippines 1999 and it has a security thread.
Please have a look at the picture below:
Is it a new typ or just N#213227 dated ealier?
Please let me know.
Greetings,
Benny :)
Assuming this is real, it would seem to be, it’s possible that you have an unreported version P-185. The 500 Piso notes N#213227 P-196 have segmented security threads. There is a 500 Piso P-185 dated 2001 with solid security thread. I would imagine it has a prefix that comes after your TR prefix. Nice find! Don’t lose it.
This is also a good reason to collect the prefixes of certain banknotes. They can help give details on unreported variations.
Read my comments for the 100 Piso- the security threads are solid (embedded in the paper) in the earlier versions & become wider, segmented & visible in the later versions.
What do you guys think is the best way to solve it?
I guess it would be the best to add a new “100 Piso - Seal Type 5, Solid Narrow Security Thread" and modify the current one N#209525 into “100 Piso Seal Type 5, Wide segmented Security Thread”.
