Seated Liberty quarter- damaged [Resolvido]

I believe that since someone put a hole through this gem it is worthless?

Maybe not - if it is a rare date then it might be needed by

someone to fill a gap in their collection until a better example comes along.

I had similar with an 1886 V Cents [0.05] coin, which still had the loop attached

Token collector [1600-1899] with some coins

The problem is there is no mint mark which would be the difference between a common and rare date coin.

Nice coin you have there.

So this is the common version. I will still hold onto, pretty special coin anyway

What I was trying to say is that the mint mark if any was removed by the hole so it could be the 1857 S (82,000 mintage) or the 1857 O (1.2 million) or the 1857 (9.6 million). Maybe a type collector would be interested to fill a 1857 hole but anyone looking for the rare 1857 S obviously wouldn't be interested.  Still a nice coin to have.

Oh ok, thank you rsirian.  Makes sense a collector would not be interested. It is a nice piece for me 😊
