Is your coin magnetic? Iron variants of this coin exist, so if your’s is strongly magnetic, then yes its likely iron.

In the case of the Qianlong, it seems completely regular to me. These varied in composition, and Ive seen hundreds of Qing cash with that look/patina.

Maybe a contemporary counterfeit or an illegal casting. There were a number of mints operating without the permission of the Shogunate, and the cash produced were typically lower quality, don’t match the proper size + weight, etc

do you have any references about these contemporary counterfeits, as I have not found anything online?
