I have one of these in a box weith Royal Mint printed on the inside lid.

The card that comes with it says £2 proof .925 silver; £2 uncirculated .500 silver.

How can i tell which it is?

Sorry if this is an obvious question, but I have searched for help unsuccessfully.

The plastic case comes loose, so I've taken the top off in an attempt to get a better picture

It's a common question when the size and weight are the same.  In this case the proof would have a cameo appearance where the devices are a matte finish and the field is a mirror like finish like this:

A BU finish wouldn't have this type finish. I would say yours is a BU one although sometimes it's harder to tell from pictures. There are ways to measure the silver content directly or indirectly if you're unsure.

If the box is original mint box then this should tell you which:

N#44497

N#24461

It looks proof to me but I'd like to see the other side.

Sorry, my replies come through truncated if I use the stone age iPad. 😒

I think it's Proof, looking at the boxes:

Thanks so much for your help - as ever much appreciated.
