Please help to identify this token (maybe for amusement.)

4 publicações • visualizado 102 vezes

I’m trying to identify this (likely brass) token.

Data:

Diameter: 26mm

Weight: 6.87 g

Edge: 1.6 (Smooth)

Obverse reverse and edge:

One side has the word "LOTUS", which I’ve tried to decode without success, and the other shows a drawing of a child. It seems to be a token, possibly used for amusement.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!

Looks like made also in other metals - though description says brass / 8 grams / 28 mm

Token collector [1600-1899] with some coins

Hi, ZacUK. Thank you very much for your valuable input.

You are correct — the token you referred to is a variant of the one I posted.

The differences are not limited to diameter, weight, and metal composition; the lettering style and ornamental details also vary.

The sellers you mentioned describe this token as being used for video games, which reinforces the hypothesis that it was intended for amusement purposes.

Another seller lists the same variant:

However, the dimensions match those of the token I originally posted.

Although I still cannot confirm its actual use, it seems we are heading in the right direction.

Many thanks again for your assistance and insights.

Still lot of mysteries about Lotus.

No entry in tokencatalog, strange denominations without relation to shilling/pence : 26/9, 30/?

Dozen of arcade games in arcade-history but none of them are adequate.
