I think, the ⅔ Talara (N#122499) is one and the same type as ⅔ Thaler from Saxony (N#192089). It was minted in Leipzig (or Dresden) for Frederick Christian, who was elector of Saxony for a short period (1763 Oct. 5 to Dec. 7) and was never ruler of the Polish-Lithuanian Commomwelth. I suggest to delete this page and add the specific information (e.g. Kopicky no., punch differences) to the Saxon page.

This problem may apply for all the five Polish coins of Friedrich Christian.

Thank you.  yes, we should just have one of each, under Saxony.  Working on it.

The duplicates have all been consolidated in Saxony, the mintmaster's marks have been organized properly, etc.

Thank you for pointing this out.

Because of the joint ruling of the two places (Electorate of Saxony and Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth) the coins are listed in both Poland catalogs and German catalogs,  which is why they wound up duplicated in Numista.

It is not always easy to understand which types circulated in each place (which is the Numista criterion for determining issuer), but some cases are more obvious than others.

Thank you for the fast and effective steps.

As far as I know, Frederick Christian never ruled in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. He was the son of Frederick Augustus II, who indeed was king of Poland and Elector of Saxony, but his son, ruling only 73 days in Saxony, was not elected as king of Poland. Instead, Stanislaus Poniatowski was crowned in Poland, and the personal union of Saxony and Poland-Lithuania was suspended (the son of Frederick Christian, Frederick Augustus became Grand Duke of Warsaw later).

Therefore the given coins, minted in Saxony, might have never circulated in Poland-Lithuania.

I agree.

The Dresden and Leipzig mints must have been very quick to design and produce these coins in significant quantity.  Despite the short reign that you mention, some of the types (⅔ thaler and 1/12 thaler) are very reasonably priced in collectible grades.  I guess that's a good thing for Germany collectors who want a coin from each ruler.
