Reunion 10 francs km 10 and 10a

Regarding the 10-franc coins km 10 and 10a from Reunion Island, I'm wondering what the real difference is between the two coins, on Numista both show the same percentage of metal composition!
Thanks

I collect world coins by type not by date

I believe the detailed composition of the Aluminum bronze one is incorrect. It should not have the nickel shown in it.

From SCWC km10

From SCWC km10a (also with a 1964 coin!)

From numista km10

From numista km10a (WITHOUT 1964?)

From UCoin (also without 1964 for the km10a!)

So does the 1964 really exist in the km10a? I don't have it (I think).

Bonjour,

Note that SCWC (and Numista)has the 1964 20 Francs only in the KM# 11 and not the KM# 11a.  Also note that Numista has the exact same composition for both.

Yes, and same problem of 10 Francs coins with composition.

According to Colnect, composition is the same of 10 Francs coins:

KM#11: Copper 81-63% Tin 9-27% 10% Alumium

KM#11a: Copper 72-56% Tin 8-24% 10% Alumium, 10% Nickel

Yes, KM# 10, KM# 11 - Aluminium bronze

KM# 11, KM# 11a - Aluminium-nickel-bronze

Those values for the composition from Colnect are generic ranges for the two alloys and not the compositions ranges actually used.. Those values should not be used in Numista as the ranges are much to large to represent the actual composition of these coins.  Unless someone can get the actual compositions from the Monnaie de Paris or the Réunion government I'd suggest deleting the composition details from Numista.

Yes, too much generic composition details, I agree with you and I think that best solution is what you comment (deleting composition details if no specific info is found).
