For this coin series:

N#11287

the general description of this coin on the Numista webpage states that its edge should be reeded.

In the valuation table further down the page, for the 1921 date (the one without the “H” mintmark), there is a notation between the “reference” and “frequency” columns that says “smooth edge”.

That comment appears only for the 1921 dated coin. Does it mean that all 1921 dated coins (minted at the San Francisco, CA, USA without a mintmark) have smooth edges, not reeded edges? The other date in this coin series minted in San Francisco (1922) does not have this notation (so presumably all 1922 no “H” mintmark coins have a reeded edge)?

My example of a 1921 dated coin (without the “H” mintmark) has a reeded edge. Does that mean it is fake?

I looked at the NGC website.

Unfortunately, the imagess are of the 1922 version.

The edge looks reeded.

The PCGS site doesn't have an image.
