I identified this coin as a 1 falus Ghiyāth al-dīn Aḥmad III

Obverse :
al-mu 'tasim legend

Reverse :
aḥmad shāh bin maḥmūd shāh


I'm having trouble reading the last digit of the date...It's not common

i thought about G546, AH 96? due to the location of the date and the weight

Yes, your coin matches G546, similar to this one in Zeno accounting for differing dies and striking positions on the flan. The last digit looks to me like a 7 lying somewhat on its side, which was a relatively common thing to do although most don't look quite like this.
