Who designed the Teuerungs Medaillen Hyperinflation 1923

Dear all,

The three ‘inflation medals’ were struck bij the Mittweidaer Metallwarenfabrik (see MM on the medals). Outside this ‘series’ of 3, other medals on the same theme of Hyperinflation exist and some of them are made by the artist Friedrich Hörnlein. But for this series of 3 I cannot find the artist or designer of these medals ('the hunger family'). Does somebody know who designed these medals ?

Thanks very much

Clement

Looks like someone with  S T Z  initials or similar.

Although, further down your page are the links to other two medals -

including  N#43615

which has Eitz as the Engraver. Not sure if it is correct or not.

I found another with better pictures

https://katzauction.com/lot/678568

and indeed it could be Eitz there.

Now to find the full name ...

Edit: This also has the same surname as confirmation

Only this found. Maybe other members know.

Lastly, for now I added the name from

N#43615

 to the other two pages

N#111065

N#176206

 and awaiting referee approval.

A cursory look through artists lexica around he time yielded nothing. The only Eitz listed died in 1918 and was an architect/draftsman.

The monogram is not “Eitz” but EML, with the M and L joined together. EML = Emil Mitlehner he was a medallist at the Mittweida Metalworks; he engraved these medals.

Thanks
