2008 Arizona state quarter with John McCain print on obverse.  Wondering how to classify this quarter.

It’s an altered quarter, coloured by someone after it left the mint.

Fun novelty item, but not any significant increase in value.

:)

Makes me nostalgic for better men, and better times…

Even though I was not in agreement with all his positions, I respected his integrity and intentions.

sorry didnt answer your question…

I wish that was true, where are the rules for this? Especially this one topic gets disobeyed the most. Ive flagged several out of control posts and nothing happens? I just dont get this site when it come to politics?

I've noticed politics for America are total game, but definitely NOT tolerated for other countries, why is this?

Just curious and not siding with anyone, just noticed a pattern.

Coin is standard modified quarter, I agree novelty value only, but interesting souvenir of a man who had no chance against Obama, yet McCain was decent, he was a moderate and called out the racists attacking Obama for being Black.

In case those of you still guessing, I was and still are a HUGE Obama fan, best president ever!

I love coins. Especially silver, gold and anything really old.

I merely mentioned the names of politicians as the thread is on a coin showing a former political figure. So if that arcane rule applies, this whole thread is breaking the rules. I mentioned I liked a former politician, but he is not one now so it does not count. As far as I know John McCain and Barack Obama are now private citizens.

We would not have the no politics rule, if politics were not so polarised.

Sadly, John McCain passed away 8 years ago.

Sadly, John McCain passed away 8 years ago.

And he was a good man.

“Merely mentioned the names?” Um, ok.

PS: this thread started off well, a fair question with a fair answer, but quickly turned political, as they too often do. Mods??

Mr Midnight said “he was a good man” jump down his throat.

Oh he is American/Canadian - can't do that, just pick on someone from a left wing background and non American country instead, then threaten him with mods if he dares answer back to you.

I said “No politics in the forums;” once in reply to you and once to Mr Midnight.

Nobody jumped down anyone's throat, nobody singled you out, and nobody threated you with mods.

Rather, you denied making political comments, and I disproved your claim with direct quotes from your message.
