Honest, but with parts of slab (on the left)
Beautiful, but with retouching (on the right)

The original ones of course as you make up details with your retouching (in this case they might be small but it's not good to make a precedence). A better solution would be to find an unslabed version.

Yes, I always use original, but some time ago we had discussion about it on local channel. And some users prefer right version.
I personally like the right better, I made the mistake early on thinking that slabbed coin photos like this were notched instead of round with a holder. especially on a white background its hard to tell if the coin is notched, or if its a holder in photos sometimes.
The right one is not real, part of it is invented. So even though it looks better, the only option is to use the left picture … or find images of coins that are not slabbed (or release the coin from its slab 😉).
As long as it is not your avatar-picture it is fine with me….

I prefer photos without slab edges, but I am against fake reconstruction of edges. Authenticity is key to me, as I really don't like plastic slab edges. But what can you do?
My solution - 1. If the coin is slabbed and can't be taken out of it - slab ends is fine
2. If the coin is not slabbed or in a slab, which can be easily open and closed - photo of the coin raw.
