There are a few types of certain Uncirculated coins I have which are not listed, are they to be classed as different coins? or different types of same coin i.e. :
I am the Numista referee for Australia. The lunar series for the year of the Ox, the gilded and colourized version of the coin will be added as different coin types. This is because the gilded version even though it has the same design has a different appearance and may confuse some collectors. As for the coloured version it will be listed differently because the design is almost identical except for the Chinese symbol on the reverse, the coloured version lacks it. As for the kangaroo I think it can be listed under the same listing as it is just two different finishes for the same coin. If you want to go ahead and create pages and/or modifications to these coins.
I have also noticed that the 1 Sovereign 'Victoria' 1887 (here: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces28487.html ) only has 1887s date, but it was minted each year from 1887-1893 in both Sydney and Melbourne; also, they each have a couple type variations.
Renniks' book has the mintages per mint, and Aust Coins & Banknotes by Greg McDonald has the type variations
Do you accept these as references?
Also for the Kangaroo, when going to edit the mintage it shows the message "The list of years is complete and has been verified......" and I'm not sure how to add the Frosted variation.
Sorry if I'm being a hassle.

I haven't gotten to the sovereigns yet. I am working to go through verifications and I am almost done the 1/2 sovereigns. I will check those books to see if they are good references but I don't see why they wouldn't work. Ok I will add the frosted variation. It is no hassle you are making my job easier. For future reference if you have questions regarding the Australian coinage you can just PM me directly for a quicker response.
No worries mate, it seems data entry and moderation for this could be a full time job!
Those books (new edition released each year) are quite good, they include a lot of variations/errors and descriptions.
I'm uploading the ones I have to use this site as a catalogue, it's definitely the best I've come across.
cheers
