I have a genuine one in front of me. The ebay listing looks funny.
Yeah, the chin is messed up, lips too. Looks way too clean. If that was a double die creating that chin you'd see that much doubling all over the place.
On the back too, the eagles left leg (on the right) there's that diagonal line coming up from the foot without the horizontal serrations, it's too clean. That area is actually VERY low on the coin and mine, which is in pretty good shape, fades out when it gets to the feather. Like it was sharpened.
Looks like a pretty good fake. Too bad they don't show the edge. The seller may not know, he's got a lot of low end Axis coinage up too.
The real deal of these are worth about $125-ish. Imma put this in my watch list. I'd pass on it tho.
Hello,
All my coins are genuine!!!!
This is a silver coin (non-magnetic)
the weight is 8 grams, diameter 25mm, 625er silver.
edge-to-mouth, chin and neck is no shadow.
This may be an error in the characterization by a defective stamping tool.
If you are unsure, then please do not bid.
regards
UWE
Austria minted quite some different 2 Schilling silver coins figuring composers (Schubert, Mozart ...) or other historic figures during the same period (prior to the "Anschluss").
