I think it would be great if we can use this topic if you spotted something interesting on ebay. sure, by time all listing will disappear, so we can use print- screen to record interesting listings.
It's not Ebay but our local auction site Trademe. I spotted this one and I showed the auction to Mark because I seemed to remember a while back that he was into the gun money. It's the first I'd seen advertised on Trademe. Pretty cool but not something I would buy
hmm, maybe admin can rename this topic "Spotted on ebay, etc" or something like that..
yes, that case grabbed my attention, coins looks very common. I saw similar cases in carboot- not for coins, but I think, I can remake similar kind of case for myself.
Unfortunately, what I usually spot on eBay are a large group of sellers all looking to make a quick buck off gullible coin buyers. It's no longer fun to sift through random coin listings looking to find an interesting coin at a reasonable price. Now you just get literal hordes of sellers all hoping to sell coins at 2-3 times the fair value and they're just wasting my time having to mentally block them out.
Gone are the days when you could get a fair (or even good) deal on eBay. Now I just keep seeing the same rip-off listings again and again. Some of the same listings have been up for almost a year already, with no buyers. One would think that they'd just give up and lower the price. Idiots.

That really depends there are bargains to be made if you have the patience, experience and know what to look for (ex. Badly described coins...) I have previously sold a coin on ebay for 350€ that I had purchased a few days before for 40€. Just last week I bought a German states pattern coin with a catalogue value of 1100 USD and paid 80€ for it (it was described as being a regular 5 Mark coin from Hamburg.

From time to time I sell some coins on Ebay make sure to follow me @apuking on Ebay.
yes- this year I managed to got silver bulk lots very cheap- under scrap prices with delivery, I picked out all good grade coins and missing years and now I am selling them on local market- my selling price is under the prices what gold/silver dealers are asking and result is- I have coins what I liked to keep and all money back what I spend buying silver bulk lots. so what I am trying to say- ebay is still good place and if you try hard, you can dig pretty good deals : )
Yes, I actually purchase most of by eBay-bought coins on the German site, since I got tired of the international one long ago.
I usually get better prices on the German site. I'm not sure why, but I'm guessing it's because there's significantly less people visiting the German one. German sellers also strike me as being more polite.
But of course, the down-side is that a lot of German sellers don't ship wordwide, and those that do, don't accept Paypal. That's bad, because there's no easy way for international buyers to pay when bank transfers cost a lot of money in "bank fees". I'm not sure how my bank justifies a US$20 "bank fee" when the whole transfer process is automated and probably costs them nothing to do so. And they slap a 4% charge on international payments.
Citação: SmartOneKgBohemia and Moravian coins are pretty rare these days; it was a German occupation in the late 1930's.
I see quite a few in the link above your post quoted here...
Really? rare?... I got a partial set (missing the korun coin) of the bohemia and Moravia coins, 10, 20/25 (I forgot...), 50 haleru zinc for average 5 cents piece?

There's a guy in Aussie that has permission to do this (usually it's illegal to deface anything with the Queen's head on it). He inserts silver threepences into a halfpenny. My parents picked me up one when they were over there a few years back.
