And so, I stepped into the darkness: Canadian 25 Cents.

My collection was packed away for about 3 months back in the summer, as I tidied up some personal issues. But what's a guy to do? When it itches, I scratch it.

I have always been somewhat embarrassed by the RCM's Commemorative craze. Sorta like a raw oyster. Tastes good and slides down easy but just doesn't sit right in your stomach (even with a good snort of Jack Daniels, that's weird!!).

The Pro's
1. I can check my change again, as the ones I am after were all in circulation. Remember looking for silver?
2. Everything you keep is EF grade.
3. Very inexpensive!!!!!
4. I have some decent extras for trades with some foreign collectors.

The Con's
1. It feels like Darth Vader is shaking my hand. I'm sorry (but hey, I'm Canadian, I always feel sorry:`).
2. These coins are taking up time and resources better spent on my main goals.

In short, this little sideline won't last long as I intend to only collect non-silver. Also, I love decent (artwork) design on any coin and some of these quarters look outstanding. Case in point..... https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces52215.html and https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces52214.html And the historical research I often do doesn't hurt either.

From the Great White North, enjoy.

there are many resurrections a long time after relocation and, if they have been replaced by then ... they will enlarge your swap list :D

I thought you were going to say you voted for that Trudeau girl.
Non illegitimis carborundum est.  Excellent advice for all coins.

I would say collect them, a lot of them are really nice. I just got a bag of Canadian coins. It had 19 quarters in it. 1968 to 1982. The new ones are magnetic so they do not make it in circulation anymore. So the only way I can get them is through swaps or buy. it came with 13 1 cents, 5 ; 5cents coins and 3 10 cent coins. Not bad for a cup of coffee, Around here people found out I want them, And they just want to get ride of them. This year I think I have gotten somewhere around 400 to 500 1 cent coins. Mostly as gifts. But as some as they changed them to magnetic I don't get anything new . an I have a rough life.
edit you can put them in your swap list and help us out, who collect them

Oh my little secret is I keep everything from Canada. I think I have 23 extras just alone in 1968 quarters. Why I don't know .

Do you need a 1968 quarter? I think I will do a big Canada gave away this winter. Thin the group

I really only need 1982 - 1991. My hand-me-down collection ended in 1981 and my change jars filled in the rest.

What do you keep yours in? I've been looking for a practical but cost-effective option.
Hey Peter M. Graham I will open my swap list and take a look for Canadian quarters I would be happy to help you out

MonaSeaclaid I use glass jars.
It is, what it is, or is it.
I have a couple of albums to complete ... When I get round to it.

But Canadian collectors should be proud to have those little coloured ones in general circulation, wish UK did the same .

happy collecting
