Most British commonwealth countries have large coins, the Crown/5 Shillings is quite large compared to other coinage worldwide.

Back when USSR released a bunch of 5-rouble circulating commemoratives around 1988-1991, everyone thought they were huge, too, at 35mm.
But, yeah, the British Commonwealth Crown/5 Shllings/25 Pence coins are even larger, over 38mm.

Can anyone show me the largest coin of the world? For circulation issues, it has to be Swedish plate coinage. The 10 daler weighed almost 20kg. This is the smallest of the series - a half-daler from 1743. It weighs 237.5g, and is about 11cm across the long edge.

For comparison, here are the two together:
Here's the 10 daler (I think this is in the Stockholm museum):

I'm still looking for the
Gambian 8 shillings , which to the best of my knowledge was the largest circulating coin of the 20th century.
The
Siberian 10 kopecks is huge, but pretty rare and popular, so well out of my budget (as much as I want one).
My current largest coin is the 5 kopek copper (already linked). I do not currently expect to realistically get anything larger.

Citação: "Oklahoman" The circulating 2 pa'anga of Tonga is 3.5 mm larger than Gambia's 8 shilling. That it is! Not sure how I missed it in my original search.
And appears to be a lot less valuable/expensive, too (despite the somewhat smaller mintage, and much higher rarity index).
