What are the most beautiful, interesting, or full of history coins from 1800-1917 that I can get for under 20€ (20$) ?
I'm fond of the Italian coins

ROMA AETERNA
You wouldn't get the Prussian one over here for under $20. They tend to go for at least $40 in decent grades.

The italian coins look nice. I'll probably get some when I go to the shop.
The Austria-Hungarian reign coin is about 20€ but the price really depends on the seller. Some sell it with 18€ in a bad condition as others are only pleased with 40€ in the same condition. Costs much less than its "cousin coin" in the Russian empire though.

The Prussia 2 mark: Someone sells these on ebay for 30€. That'll do! I'll say they're all fine.

I found more:

Im not sure about the price, but a damn beautiful common coin.

Owl standing on an amphora. Beautiful. Weird.

I've acquired it for 18 EUR in Germany a while ago. (XF)
You could have a look at the 5 mongo of Mongolia 1925, it is under $20.
Thanks for all your replies! I'll try to get all these coins one by one. Any more?
I know I'm a bit late, but I'd like to submit my beloved Newfoundland coinage to the mix.

First there's the Newfoundland one cent pieces:

In your timeframe they span three monarchs and, until this year, were the only coins ever to feature carnivorous plants, apart from bullion and commemoratives. (It's possible someone can correct me on that, if someone out there can please do! I haven't found any others though.)

Those are pitcher plants (Sarracenia purpurea), Newfoundland's national flower. They're adorned with oak branches.

There are also silver coins that can be found in that price range but I recommend starting with a one cent coin, and I don't want to bog you down. They're a really nice size and are so attractive.

These coins are awesome because Newfoundland only made coins for such a short amount of time, and they represent a time that's, remarkably, still in living memory. Despite their age you can still meet plenty of people today who remember spending these coins. And people who remember having to let them go. They represent a turbulent time in the history of the (now) province that still affects its people today. And it's a great chance to get some older bronze coins that are, in my opinion, gorgeous!

The local numismatic shop has a lot of 1800-1917 coinage, including finnish, egyptian, chinese, russian, (Mostly LMU) but also coins from UK, Canada, and in the canada section the first page has some coins from Newfoundland. I do not remember exactly what coins but atleast one silver coin and the penny. Nova scotia coinage looks pretty similar, I once bought a nova scotian penny (I went through the canadian provinces section, but the coins of Newfoundland are in good condition so they cost me too much because I only had a few € with me.)

Good idea, its the only coinage said that my local shop has to offer (I am pretty sure there is some Prussia coin collectors as prussian coins always disappear.)
You're right, the Nova Scotia one cent coins are similar, but feature roses instead. I also find them very attractive. I hope you'll post some photos of your finds!

New Brunswick has also coins with the almost same design.

Here is my Nova Scotia penny.
