Hi,
Just wondering what the oldest coin is in Numista or in your collection.
Mine is a Roman-Egypt from 68AD but with many gaps from then to now.

Mine would be a Roman coin from 278 AD of Probus; I also have one from 321 AD of Constantinus II; then it's a massive gap until 1568 for me.

Mine are a late Roman coin, ~340 AD (
https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces90175.html ), followed by an early Byzantine coin, ~520 AD (not on Numista yet, added but awaiting validation).
Before getting them (got them recently) my oldest coins were a russian coin, ~1650 (
https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces113598.html ) and a german coin, 1703 (
https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces98522.html ).

My oldest coin is a Kyzikos hemiobol from the 5th century BC. Either
this type (which I currently have it listed under) or, more likely, another similar one.
I tried my best to get at least one coin from each century after that; I
probably succeeded, but there's still some uncertainty about the 13th century.

As I do not collect Roman or anything like that age, like some of you collectors out there, my oldest coin is shown below.
I have been told that it is a Shilling of around 1645, but not really sure. Swapped it many years ago for some football programs.
Weight-5.80gms
Diameter-30mm (at largest)
I'm just a collector of coins, not a slave to it, unless I am in a coin shop.
For all you banknote collectors. Link to my swap list.

So,
The information was nearly correct. Only the date was slightly wrong, but no worries. BramVB, thanks for information.
