Identifying 1 Yuan coin but date seems odd [Resolvido]

4 publicações
Hi all
I'm a complete newcomer so it's entirely possible I've missed this one in the lists.

I believe it says "Republic of China year 74", which suggests it's 1985 and that seems to be after the change to the PRC. I believe the picture is Sun Yat Sen but not certain. On the reverse, I think that says 1 Yuan but not certain about the other character.

The coin is approx 20mm diameter, weighs 3.81g and looks like it may be brass or bronze (it has more of a yellow colour than copper - I haven't calculated the density). It isn't magnetic.

If anyone can help I'd be grateful.

Taiwanese 1 dollar coin
This coin was minted in Taiwan not China. The front says republic of China because that is Taiwan’s official name.
on the back from right to left says one dollar.
Front: bust of Chiang Kai-shek Year 74=1985.
These are still in circulation exchange rate= USD $0.032

Many thanks for the quick reply. I'll add it to my list
