Thanks!
Good morning, Pott. The staff is the Caduceus, or Wand of Hermes, the Ancient Greek god (Roman = Mercury) of commerce, travel, and communication. But also healing. Though the head is not of him, as he would have a winged hat and no beard. The caduceus appears on coins of the island of Skiathos, and the historic regions of Thrace and Pontus. Though not in the form on your coin. I cannot, as yet, find any like this one.
Regards, Alex.
